Nuts Night

My sisters and I try to get together as often as possible for Nuts Night. Nuts is a card game my family is really into. We can get rather competitive. We alternate whose house we meet at and last night I hosted it at my house. We had Jenny and her kids, Linda and her kids, Kristy and her kids, Kari and I. It was lot of fun. We managed not to even play Nuts but we tried a new game that I liked. I believe it is called Malice and Spite.

Anyways everyone bought some food so we had soup in bread bowls, Stuffed Strawberries, A chocolate fountain and lots of fruits and cookies to dip in it. The kids loved all the chocolate they got to eat. It was a ton of fun. Luckily we were smart enough to do this outside (since we all know how messy chocolate fountains can be). It was the perfect temp outside and I got to use the Kerosene lanterns from my wedding. Anyways here are some pictures from our night.
Lizzy and Kristin were a ton of help by keeping the two babies (Matthew and Stockton) occupied.

Lizzy and Matthew hanging out.

Jenny's kids are cute. They like to listen to Annie on the IPOD and they just sit and sing along to it. This is Brinley. She was singing "Tomorrow, Tomorrow" It was so cute!

At the end of the night I noticed the kids had been feeding Lily Sugar Wafers. There were about 5 wafers in his cage including one dipped in chocolate. I don't know if Lily ate any... but I was a bit worried there for a few. Anyways Lilt came out and played for a little while though which really amused Matthew. There was a moment when Lily came right up to Matthew and sniffed at him. It was cute. Matthew was so curious and didn't know what to think. Of course I did not have my camera at that point, but this was a little later when Lily ran back into his cage.

It was a fun night. Prior to Nuts Night we all went to a Mary Kay Party that Kristy was doing. We did microdermabrasion, facials, and make overs. It was interesting because neither me, nor my sisters wear makeup and we are all pretty clueless about that stuff. It was rather entertaining.

Then after Nuts night I had to go pick Mike up from his friends birthday party. He had a few drinks, therefore needing a designated driver. I had Jenny drop me off over there so I could drive Mike and the car home. That was a pretty interesting party. I was one of the few who was still sober. At one point, someone dropped a beer and it sprayed all over everyone.. including me. I wasn't too happy about that. The last straw was when a fight suddenly broke out right in front of us. I ducked behind Mike but we were trapped in the kitchen while they were trying to break up the fight. It scared the crap out of me! I told Mike that was it... we were leaving. He wanted to say goodbye to his friend but I was not going to stick around long enough for him to do that so I dragged him out the front door. I have never been to a party where a fight has broken out but It really scared me. I am so not a partier!

Feeling a little depressed today...

So today has been an interesting day. I went in for an Ultra Sound. Before anyone gets excited... I am not pregnant. Getting an ultrasound done is not fun. I never thought they would be painful... but they push hard with the ultrasound wand thing. Plus I had a full bladder and thought for sure I was going to pee on the table. Luckily I survived. I wish I could have deciphered what I was seeing on the screen. The Ultrasound tech didn't seem to want to explain much. So I guess I have to wait until Monday for my results. I hate waiting. Especially knowing that these results will tell me whether I will be going in for a D&C next week or not.

Anyways... I feel like my health is going down the drains. I feel like I turned 25 and my body just started falling apart. It really sucks and makes me want to cry. I hate feeling unhealthy. I just hope they can make things stop and get better. I am anemic and really feeling it. I have no energy. Carrying a load of laundry from one room to the next about makes me pass out from exhaustion. Walking too fast (like in walmart trying to race thru and get my shopping done so I can get out of there) makes me feel like passing out as well. I just hate it! I have never been super healthy before... but I have also never felt so unhealthy before. I just want my health back!

Anyways... just needed a little venting session. I am hoping things get better for me and soon. I don't know how much longer I can stand feeling this way.

Park City Marathon

Yesterday Mike ran the Park City Marathon. That is one of his favorite Marathons. In fact Park City is the very first Marathon he ever ran. Interestingly enough... yesterdays marathon was number 20 for Mike. I can't believe he has run so many! I am proud to say that I have been at the finish line of every single one!

He managed to finish in 3:23:04 which was 9 minutes and 15 seconds faster than last year. He also finished in the top 20. I think he was number 17. He came across the finish line with a big grin. I love it when it comes across and I can tell he is feeling good. I am proud of him though for doing so well.

Quick update on today:
Mike spent the majority of the day out in the garage working on my car. He made awesome progress on stripping the paint. You can read more about that at http://www.melissasmustang.blogspot.com/
I was out there for about a half hour helping to strip paint... but it is hard work. I then came in and decided to work on my blog book. I am turning my Mustang Blog into a book. I got all caught up on that book so I started my 2008 Blog Book... which will be all the entries from that year on this blog. I am excited to get it done.

The Cat Tower that Mikal built!

I am way behind on posting. So last weekend Mike built a cat tower for Lily. I know it is hard to picture a rabbit on a cat tower... but Lily loves to jump up on things. He will always jump on his box, then up onto the garbage can, then sometimes onto the table to visit the bird. So I figured that If I had a cat tower made he would have something new to jump on. Plus he loves to chew up carpet so it works well.
We had some extra scraps of wood from Mike's shelves he built the weekend before. This is the skeleton of the tower....
This is after it is all done (and Lily is enjoying it). We were able to get carpet samples from Mike's work for free so we used them to carpet it.
Lily LOVES the tower. It took him some time to get use to it but he can go all the way to the top. He even likes to burrow into the little house on top. Man...I spoil my rabbit!

Sunday, day of rest.. Hardly!

Today has been a very busy but productive day. Mike worked out in the garage all day building shelves. He decided before we start working on the Mustang again, we needed some good shelves to put parts on. We were running out of space. You can see pictures of the lovely shelves on my mustang blog http://www.melissasmustang.blogspot.com.
I worked in the kitchen all day. Our tomatoes are really starting to come in... quicker than we can eat them. So I found a recipe for Salsa and decided I would can some. So I went out and bought some stuff for canning. I have never canned anything in my life. I split the recipe in half which made about 3 1/2 pint jars. I figured I didn't need 12 cans worth. I also did a lot less jalapenos because I am a wimp. I think it turned out good.

My canner container thingy... which has a rack inside. It worked well. At least I think. I guess I will see tomorrow if the jars really sealed.

The three jars I canned. There is another half can of salsa but we just put it in the fridge so we can eat it now.

We also decided it was time to eat a spaghetti squash. I have never eaten spaghetti squash in my life... but Mike has. So I got that done. I cooked the squash and then scooped out the inside and mixed it with Spaghetti sauce and threw it back in the oven for 20 minutes. It is delicious!

I also made some Zucchini bread which is in the oven now. I followed the same recipe I used last time except I tried some different spices. Hopefully this bread will have more flavor.

That is about it for my Sunday. I am excited to be able to sit and relax for the rest of the night. I am exhausted!

Oh! I have to blog about my new profession. I am a barber! I cut Mike's hair on Friday night. We had bought a set of clippers so I decided to try it out. I think it turned out good. It was also rather fun. I cant wait to do it again next month!

Here we go again...

So alot has changed in the last week. I stopped doing the HCG Diet more or less for medical reasons. My body wasn't in a state to go with such few calories... so yeah. Someday I would love to try it again though when I am healthy enough to do it.

Second little update is I am apparently going to start working on the infertility stuff again. I went to a new Dr this time and he is willing to try Clomid for awhile before jumping into the expensive stuff. They are going to work with me and up my dosage of clomid until it works. So this should be interesting. I am going to start taking the drugs within the next few days so my emotions are going to be Wacky. I just love messing with hormonal drugs! anyways keep your fingers crossed that something will come of this!

How Mike and I Entertain Ourselves on a Saturday Night

So I was not able to make it to St. George for my cousin Mindi's wedding. I am still a bit bummed about that. I would have loved to go... but I suck at finances and made a $200 error. At least I caught it before anything major happened. It just meant I couldn't afford to splurge.

Anyways Mike and I sat around most of the day Saturday. We were both bored and not sure what to do with ourselves, but Mike came up with a good idea. He remembered he had a race track that was never opened. So we opened it and spent the next little while racing.

Sometimes it feels so good to be childish. I had a lot of fun.

HCG UPDATE:

I have seriously been struggling. I have not been losing as much as I was at first. I need to keep telling myself that I am still within the average that women on this diet lose. It just gets hard. I decided it is even more hard doing this diet on the weekends. I have much more time on my hands therefore more time to think of food. During the work week it isn't so bad. I am getting sick of the same old meals... but what can ya do.

Today I have been feeling better. I am sure glad I had Mike helping me... or I would have caved a long time ago. He is really good at telling me no.

Anyways I am on Day 15 and have lost 11.6 lbs. I think if I wasn't having such issues eating the meat... I probably would have lost more by now. I can only do what I can do though.
