Memorial Day Weekend activities

This has actually been a really fun weekend. Friday night Mike and I watched a movie, then decided we just wanted to get the house cleaned that night instead of waiting till the morning. So we did a late night cleaning. It was actually kind of fun. I honestly think cleaning is much more fun in the middle of the night than the middle of the day.

Saturday, Mike and I went for a nice drive with Mike's parents. They had one of their classic Mustangs, and we took the '66 Mustang Convertible. It was fun! We went over to Logan and up Logan canyon to Bear Lake. We then went to Franklin, ID before heading back home. It was a blast. We were able to have the top down for a lot of the drive, but then put it down because we got rained on.

Saturday night My parents came to stay. So we ended up just sitting around chatting and playing computers. When they come to visit everyone has their laptops setup on the dinning room table. We all sit on our computers. That is how we bond.

Sunday I made some Yummy Creamy Potato soup in the crock pot. I also bought bread bowls to have it in. Jenny, Roger and the kids came over for a little while. Then right before the soup was done and ready to be serves, Linda called and said they were having a BBQ. So Mike, My parents, and I all ate some soup as an appetizer before heading to Linda's. We stayed and chatted at Linda's for a little while before heading home. Mike and I also ran to the store and bought some tiki citronella oil. At our wedding we had little lanterns as the center pieces on the tables. Well we ended up having a few left so we hung them on out patio. We have never gotten around to buying the oil so I finally made him buy some last night. So we all sat out on the swing with the lanterns burning, listening to the rain. It was very relaxing and nice.

Today Mike had to go in to work for a couple hours. I went with my parents, Shelly, Lizzy, Kristin, Matthew, Jenny, Roger and their kids, and Rogers Mom to This is the Place monument. It was a blast! They had a little petting Zoo so we got to pet goats, ducks, Lambs, bunnies, and chicks. It was fun. I got some good pictures. We then wandered around the village. For those of you that have never been there... they do a living history. So they have people all dressed up in the pioneer clothes and they have little activities you can do. They are also very knowledgeable about pioneer history. The kids got to ride a little train, make an Indian necklace, and ride ponies. Plus there was a bigger train we got to ride on.

We all went to Olive Garden afterwards for lunch. Mike met up with us there for lunch. While I was with my family, Mike hiked Grandeir Peak. I did that hike with him once and it about killed me. I was glad that he got to do that hike though. It has been a couple years since he last did it but it is kinda like a tradition for him. He also said he did it in record time. It only took him an hour and a half round trip. When I did it... it took us six hours. He got some good pictures I will have to post on here later. Right now I have to get going. We are going over to Mike's parents house for a BBQ now. It has been a busy weekend, but it has been a blast!
