A New Love

So I found a new love. I have been trying to figure out when I have time to exercise. I work 10 hour days where I am sitting on the phone all day. It is rare that I have the chance to get up and stretch my legs while working. I get home at 6 PM and don't feel like doing ANYTHING but eating and going to bed. My one day off I always just enjoying being lazy, and the weekends I am too busy with Mike to do much. Seeing as I am putting on weight like you wouldn't believe, I decided something had to give. So I started walking during my lunch break and it is great!

I work in a little building by Intermountain Medical Center. Right behind the hospital they have a little walking path that goes along the creek. So I have started doing the loop where I start from my work, walk over along the path, and back to my work. It isn't quite a mile... but it is a good distance considering I only have a 30 minute lunch break. I have been able to do it with 10 minutes to spare. So now I eat my lunch in between phone calls so I can have my whole lunch break devoted to getting out and walking.

I have done it twice now, Tuesday and Wednesday. It is sooo relaxing. It is nice getting away from the office even for that short amount of time. I am able to take that time to relax and listen to my Ipod while enjoying the scenery of the creek. I always feel so good by the time I get back to work and have to get back on the phone. I was thinking this was going to be a hard thing to commit too... but nope... I love it! I look forward to those little walks now. I am just happy I found a release, a way to have some ME time and also calm down after being yelled at by people all morning on the phones. It is great!

Excellent idea Melissa! That's awesome. I am really considering doing the same. Especially now that it's getting a little warmer.
