My love of ABBA

I have a confession to make.... I am totally in love with ABBA. I have fond memories growing up listening to them because my mom also loved ABBA. In fact, I have a decent collection of ABBA music on my Ipod, which I have been listening to a lot lately.

So I am very excited to get to go see Mama Mia at the Capitol Theater on Saturday. I have wanted to see that play for awhile and was very disappointed to find out it was no longer playing in Vegas when I went for my birthday. I was very excited when my sister called me up to let me know it was coming to Salt Lake and asked if I wanted tickets. I jumped on the opportunity. It is going to be amazing!

In order to prepare for it, I have been listening to lots of ABBA on my Ipod. I also watched part of Mama Mia the movie. I still have a hard time with that one simply because Meryl Streep singing kinda sounds like fingers nails on a chalkboard to me. She really doesn't belong in a musical. Although I really do love Amanda Seyfried. Even though I didn't finish the entire movie... I figured I watched enough of it.

I actually just finished watching Muriel's Wedding. I had actually never seen that movie before and had forgotten it until my friend mentioned it the other day. Honestly, it was an ok movie...although a little weird. I rather enjoyed it though.

Anyways I figure surrounding myself with everything ABBA lately is great preparation for this play. Now I just have to wait for a couple more days to pass and I will be there! Oh and everyone cross their fingers that my cold will get better or go away completely before the play. I don't want such a great experience to be overshadowed by a horrible cough and cold!
