Marathon

So I just wanted to brag about my wonderful Fiance (I love saying that). Mike ran the Deseret News Marathon this morning. I got up at 2:45 am and dropped him off at Rice Eccles Stadium to catch his bus up to the start line. I then came home and went back to sleep for 4 hours. I then got up again at 7:45 am and headed down to Liberty Park to watch him cross the finish line. I got there early (thank goodness). I didn't expect Mike to come across the finish line when he did. I expected another half hour before seeing him. He set a new Personal Record. He did the marathon in about 3 hrs and 29 minutes. I was shocked when I saw him come around the bend towards the finish line. I was even more shocked when I met up with him in the runners area and he was still functioning after running 26.2 miles. we were able to walk to the car without him stopping to lay down every 10 feet. It was nice. He was really happy with his time, and I am just really proud of him. This was his 11th Marathon, and he still has 4 more Marathons he is planning on running this year... Crazy kid!

Other good news... we are headed to St. George today, YAY!! I am overdue for a vacation and I happen to have the next few days off of work. So I am going to allow Mike a few hours to recuperate before forcing him to sit in the car for 4 hrs with cramping legs. It will be nice to see my parents and to go "home" for a few days. I am very excited! so the next entry should be all about my St. George trip.
