4th of July

Yesterday was actually a really fun day. The Northern Utah Mustang Owners Association (the club Mike and his family are all a part of) were in the Sandy Parade yesterday. They had cars of all years. Lucky me got to drive Mike's 1994 Mustang Convertible. I hate being the center of attention so it was awkward. Mike drove his 1965 Fastback so he was in the lead... and I was a ways back. Anyways it was a very slow drive with lots of people staring at me, but I survived. We actually bowed out of the parade a little early due to the fact that all of the early year Mustangs were overheating. That was fine with me though because I had had more than enough attention.
After the parade (and after letting the cars cool) we all went to Sizzlers for a late dinner. Mike's sister invited us out to her house to do fireworks, so after dinner we went and put the nice cars away and picked up Molly before heading to his sisters house.
We spent the next few hours watching them light fireworks. They happened to have some *cough* illegal *cough* fireworks that shot up into the sky. well one of them tipped over and started throwing flaming balls in every which direction. It was scary because we didn't know where to run. They were shooting everywhere! One happened to explode on the hood of a truck and left a slight burn mark. It was rather scary.. but was rather funny after the fact. Mike's nephew took a hit but luckily it didn't explode until it bounced off his chest and went the other direction. He had a nice bruise. After that incident we stuck to the Utah Fireworks.
It was a fun night. We didn't get home until after 1 am (which is really late for us). I would have to say that was probably the most entertaining 4Th of July I have had in a while.

This was taken in the staging area before the start of the parade. Mike's 1965 Light Blue Mustang he drove is the first car on the right. I drove the Teal Blue Convertible that is the 2nd car back on the left.
