Two Scary Nights in a Row...

So I should start out with Friday Night. My dog rarely makes it thru the night without waking me up to let her out. It's not that she can't hold it... I think she just gets bored in the middle of the night so she decides going outside is better then being couped up in our room all night. So she woke me up at 4 AM Saturday morning to let her out. I got to open the back door and realize it was unlocked. That made me a bit nervous that we somehow forgot to lock it.

Anyways I crawl back into bed after letting her out and casually mention to Mike he forgot to lock the door. He replied that I must have forgotten to lock it when I took Molly out at 1 AM. I told him I didn't take her out at 1. He swears he woke up to me crawling out of bed to let her out and me crawling back in. So I have NO recollection of letting her out at 1 AM. Apparently I did it in my sleep! Which makes me wonder how many times a night the dog takes advantage of my sleep walking and gets me to let her out.

I have crazy sleeping habits. I have been a sleep walker since I was a kid. I talk in my sleep... I do everything in my sleep. It really makes me nervous that I could walk to the door to let the dog out and walk back into bed without waking up once. It scares me that one of these nights I am going to wake up standing in the middle of the road or something! So now I am extra nervous about the sleep walking deal especially now that I know I can unlock the door and open it in my sleep.

On to the scariness last night. So I had just drifted off to sleep and heard someone knocking on our window. I think I have blogged about this before. We will occasionally hear someone knock on our window or on the wall that separates our room from the exercise room. Mike will peek outside but won't be able to see anyone. It is always unnerving. Anyways last night Mike looked outside and couldn't see anything. I was debating waking up my dad to see if he had heard it or to warn him that creepy things were happening. Then Mike came to a realization...

When Molly relocates to her bed (which happens to be right up against the closest doors)... She sometimes bumps against the closet doors which in turns makes them bang against each other. When they bang against each other it really sounds like someone knocking on the window. That also explains why every time we would hear knocking... Molly didn't ever bark. She barks at EVERYTHING. So now we know that the knocking is from her and she doesn't bark because she knows she made the sound.

Mike did point out that that doesn't explain the knocking we hear on the wall between the two rooms. Sometimes Molly does bark at that sound..... and the knocking has gone on while she was laying on the floor by me and nowhere near the closets. So who knows whats going on there... but at least the window knocking is solved!!

that's a relief to know the window knocking is just the closet. That is really creepy to hear knocking on the wall.
Sleep walking is scary. I'm really sorry that you have to deal with that. I wonder if there is a way to get you to stop doing that. that is really scary that you let the dog out in your sleep.
I had a bad dream about mom last night. I don't remember the details of the dream, I just remember that she died in my dream. I woke up really upset, then I felt relieved when I realized it was just a dream. I thought "I'm so glad that was just a dream and mom is still alive." Then I remembered that mom had passed away and I was all upset again.
