Last night Mike and I took his telescope outside to look at the moon. I guess last night was the brightest the moon was going to be for all of 2010. I hadn't had the chance to experience the joys of a telescope so Mike agreed to set it up. We also tried to see Mars but it was hard to see it. I think the light of the moon was making it more difficult to see it. It was neat though. I have never seen the moon thru the telescope but it was incredible!
Mike was able to get some pictures with his camera thru the telescope. Here are some of the best ones...

My Dad and I went downtown today. It was a lot of fun. He first drove past an old house he lives in on 9th East near Liberty Park. He told me all kinds of stories of the trouble he use to get into living there. He even talked about how he would throw all his sisters dolls off the balcony and break them. I told him it is probably a good thing he didn't have any sons because they could have turned out to be just as much trouble as he was as a kid.
Then we went to the State Capitol building. I have seen it but never been inside. It was incredible! I wish I would have had my camera to take some pictures. We also ended up walking around the Front Runner station for a few minutes. Then we got lunch and headed home. It was a lot of fun. It was neat hearing all his stories and memories. I wish I would have had a camcorder so I could have recorded the house and the stories he was telling. It was really neat!
