This was a very eventful weekend. The Northern Utah Mustang Owners Association... aka NUMOA put on an MCA Grand national show in Park City this weekend. For those of you who don't speak Mustang, the local car club put on a huge car show with lots of out-of-towners. They only do a couple Grand Nationals a year and they are the big of big car shows in the mustang world.
Anyways... Mike and I shared a condo in Park City with his sister, her girlfriend, and her son. It was a blast! Friday was the Pony trails where we had between 75-100 Mustangs drive to Mirror Lake. On the way back, we were three cars back from a Mustang that hit a deer. It was sad. Other than that, it was a fun. I managed to forget sunscreen so I am very burned. So i am hoping that I wont be peeling for the wedding.
Saturday was the show. We had about 375 mustangs lined up Main Street in Park City. I wish I had some pictures to share... but of course I forgot my camera. That was a hectic day. Mike and I got up at 4 am to help with parking. we were guarding a parking lot that was reserves for trucks and trailers. we had lots of unhappy Park City-ans who wanted to park there. We did good fending them off... but then after we left, someone moved the barricades and so a whole bunch of people parked in there blocking the trailers. So after the show we had a fun time getting the trailers out without damaging cars.
Saturday night was a banquet held at the canyons. We got to ride the Gondola up to a restaurant up top of the mountain. I loved riding the Gondola and the Cabriolet. I actually rode the cabriolet a few times just for fun. I had never ridden in a ski lift that you stand in before.
Today was another show in the parking lot at the Canyons resort. That one was for all Fords so we had more than just mustangs. It was fun. i got to ride the Cabriolet again, which is always enjoyable. After that show we did the awards ceremony. Mike didn't win any awards on his 66 mustang convertible... but that was because he entered it as "Display only" which meant he wasn't eligible to win any awards. His sister Heather won first in her class for her 93 Mustang.
After the awards ceremony, we went outside to find it was pouring. So the drive home down Parleys canyon was a bit scary ... but we survived. Mikes convertible had a couple leaks so we got a little wet... but not too bad.
I enjoyed the show... but I am so happy to be home. Mike and I both have work off tomorrow so we get a relaxing day. Most of all, I am Very Happy to get to sleep in my own bed!
