First Post

So I gave in and started a blog. I actually already had one from when I lived in Logan in 2006. I just never wrote in it once I moved out of Logan. Now I decided I might as well do another one. I dont know that I expect many people to read it... but oh well. It will be fun.
So I guess maybe I could start about some of the crazy things that have been going on the last week. My car got totaled. It got rearended about a week and a half ago. Then the next day at the collision center it got backed into. So it is totaled. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because not only did my Saturn get paid off early.... but I was able to take the insurance pay out and buy another car. I bought a 1995 Mustang. I love the body style and got it in a beautiful green color. It is not a new car by any means. It has some scratches and a couple little dents. It is still cute though. The interior is Tan...which really is not my favorite... but oh well.
Ironically.... I now am the owner of two Mustangs. I told Mike his family is dangerous. If you are around them too much... you will find yourself the owner of Mustangs in no time! The other Mustang I have is a 1967. It is not much to look at right now because it needs a full restoration. It was my dads's first car, and I feel I am very lucky to have it. I cant wait to get it all restored. We have gotten the engine running... and are planning on getting the transmission working as well... so that it will hopefully drive. Once we know that the transmission and everything is still good... then Mike will start tearing into it and dismantling it one peice at a time. Someday it will be all done and I will be able to take it to car shows.
In the midst of all the car stuff.... I have also been working on wedding stuff. I actually won a wedding dress on Ebay. It was originally about a $600 dress but I got it for $200. I have no problems buying a used dress because really people only wear their wedding dresses for a few hours. I am anxiously awaiting its arrival to see if it fits... or what alterations will have to be done. Or to see if i will have to go on a diet. As for more recent events... Mike ran the Ragnar Relay on Friday and Saturday. It starts in Logan and ends in Park City. I ended up having to go volunteer on Saturday morning. I actually headed up Parleys Canyon in my new Mustang (which is an older car and I didnt know if it could make it) at 2 am. I ended up volunteering in Heber from 3 am - 8 am. It wasnt bad. It was actually kind of fun. I then waiting another hour for Mikes team to come thru where I was at... then headed home. I am pleased so say my car made it with no problems whatsoever.
Last night Mike and I added a new addition to our family. We adopted Holly's (Mike's Sister) bird. It is a yellow Parakeet which is really rather cute. It is aparently not hand tamed in the least. That is soemthing Mike found out this morning when he tried to hold the bird. He ended up being bitten a couple times... and we ended up spending the next half hour trying to catch the darn thing to get it back in its cage. The bird sits on our kitchen table with a good view of the backyard. It loves to chirp at all the other birds. In fact... I was woken up bright and early to very loud chirping coming from our Kitchen. I was not too pleased! I guess we will see how long i can hold out with this bird. I am a total animal person... but birds really arent my cup of tea i guess.
Well I should probably end this. Mike laid down on the floor waiting for me to finish up my post.. and has enevitably fallen asleep. I guess I should wake him so we can pull the 67 Mustang out of the garage and try to start it again. Hopefully I will get in the habit of writing often.... I guess we will see.
