Making Utah's streets safer by taking one scary driver off the road at a time...

I thought you would all like to know that I have so far helped get three scary drivers off the road in the last 4 months. The first one was the guy that rear ended Mike and I when we were stopped at a light. He (come to find out) was driving on a suspended license. That was the guy that totaled my car (which turned out to be a blessing in disguise).

The 2nd guy was the one who backed into my car the next day at the collision center and then took off. Luckily they caught it all on surveillance. I am actually scheduled to go to court on October 21st as a witness against that guy. I am not too excited about that, but at least that guy will get what he deserves.

The latest victim was about 20 minutes ago. Mike and I had done some late night Halloween shopping and were putting together a cemetery in the front yard (it turned out wayyy cute!!) Well I was on the front porch and heard screeching tires. I looked up in time to watch a car down the street run into the gutter (its a deep gutter, almost like a small ditch)and then turn down a neighborhood street. Mike and I started walking down there to make sure everything was ok. Well before we were even within sight of the car we could hear yelling. It was a male and female. It sounded to me like the guy was beating the crap out of the car while yelling at the girl. We were a bit nervous to go over there since it was sounding so violent and we didn't know what kind of weapons the guy may have had.

Mike, being the smart man that he is, pulled out his cell phone and called 911. While he was on the phone with the dispatcher, we watched the girl take off walking down the street and the guy yelling at her. He then gets in the car, turns around and heads towards the girl and purposely drives the car into the gutter. Once again, its about a 2 feet deep gutter with straight vertical walls. So as you can imagine, a car going into that would not be pretty. Well He purposely drove the car into the gutter and backed up to cause more damage. All the while he was yelling at the girl (which he had caught up to with the car).

Well then the car somehow got out of the gutter and took off down the street towards 9th east with no tail lights. They must had gotten jared in the all the commotion because the headlights still worked.. just not the tail lights (and they had been working before he hit the gutter the first time). So Mike is still on the phone with the dispatcher explaining what is happening but not getting close enough for the guy to run him over. The car drove out of sight but Mike was able to tell them it was a white neon with no taillights. Two seconds later the dispatcher told him that the cop had pulled them over. I think they got pulled over just on the other side of 9th east by Sports Authority (Formally Gart Bros.) We were able to see the flashing lights from our house. I counted three cops drive in that direction.

The dispatcher had asked if we would give a statement and Mike told them yes... but they never came and got it. I wish they would have, because that was just a scary driver. At least they got him pulled over though. He was driving very erratic and it made me nervous seeing him purposely driving the car into things. I was scared he was going to try to crash into our yard or something.

It was rather exciting tonight. I love when exciting things happen even though I was scared to death at the time. My favorite part is telling other people about exciting things like tonight. Hence why I was so quick to write this in my blog.. Aren't blogs great?!?

That's scary. You have a lot of scary exciting stuff happen by your house. It is sad that I am jealous of that. Tremonton is so boring.
